Fascism is recognized to have first been officially developed by Benito Mussolini, who came to power in Italy in 1922. To sum up fascism in one word would be to say "anti-liberalism".
...............Socialism and Democracy. Political doctrines pass; peoples remain. It is to be expected that this century may be that of authority, a century of the "Right," a Fascist century."Image Source Page: http://marxistleninist.wordpress.com/2010/07/10/glenn-beck-champions-u-s-pro-nazi-text/
Having awaited a reply for more than three weeks from an MSEA/SEIU organizer, I begin to suspect that their connection is down, too.
ReplyDeleteIs it true that the current contract protects employee healthcare benefits through June, 2009?
Judging public sentiment from the papers' letters to editors and online comments, legislators will be deluged with support for cutting at State employees. Rather than saving $60-$100 million by paring management as suggested by Brookings, line workers will be targeted. "Duck and cover" still isn't a good defensive startegy.
McKernan's henchmen were stupid enough to publicly dump their budget problems on the backs of hardworking state employees only to find the ever-grumbling Maine citizenry cry bloody murder when they couldn't renew their driver's licenses or pick up their well-deserved, hard-earned food stamps because state government was shut down.
ReplyDeleteBaldacci's brain surgeons are a bit more discreet by stealing it from our pockets well out of the public's eye. Forcing us to pay more for what we have earned doesn't have any impact on state services, so who cares? You can screw with state employees only so long before they jump ship and take jobs in the private sector making more money than ever possible in state government. Then we're left with new state employees who make serious mistakes handing out those well-deserved food stamps.
Yes, we see waste in State Government every day. Ask 100 state employees how to balance the budget and you will get 100 good, honest, workable suggestions. And they will all be fair to the people who keep state government running from one day to the next.
Why is this so hard for Baldacci and the legislature to understand?
