Several things are happening but first for a little humor. I just read a piece called George Bush's resume. It asks if you would hire a man with his job history. Check out the fun filled facts at politicalhumor.about.com
The next bit of news is that the campaign for early bargaining is going well and we can also thank our new president for keeping to his word. In Bruce's own words, "A plan for the start of the next bargaining session will be presented to the Board at the next board meeting on January 18."
After the contract signing on January 4 many members of the last negotiations team are getting together to find out what went right, a lot did, and what went wrong.
Bruce Hodsdon is president of the Union now and I think we can hold out a lot of hope for a more active Union with a more involved membership. We have come a long way from when I heard one SEIU negotiator tell elected team members "I am the negotiator" "I speak with the State" and "everything has to go through me". That was years ago, but I for one will never take that from anyone again.
There has to be one voice at the table to avoid a mob scene but now the elected members know they can tell "the negotiator" what they want and what to do. There will be no question of back room deals with Bruce Hodsdon as president!
Don't mistake anyone here for a wild eyed optimist. The State will be coming for anything they can take back and trying to keep any possible raises off the table. The K.J. will be slamming State employees and Democrats for anything wrong with anything, anywhere.
The last bit of news is that UnionMaine.BlogSpot.com is doing better and will be moving to a new address in a few weeks. You will be able to get the same news, and your own personalized UnionMaine email address.
He made the trains run on time and controlled the Unions

Fascism is recognized to have first been officially developed by Benito Mussolini, who came to power in Italy in 1922. To sum up fascism in one word would be to say "anti-liberalism".
...............Socialism and Democracy. Political doctrines pass; peoples remain. It is to be expected that this century may be that of authority, a century of the "Right," a Fascist century."Image Source Page: http://marxistleninist.wordpress.com/2010/07/10/glenn-beck-champions-u-s-pro-nazi-text/
